 Mike Keown has filed his candidacy papers! Like you and a growing number of Americans, Representative Mike Keown
is alarmed about the direction of our nation. Southwest Georgians are
conservative, patriotic, independent, hard-working, enterprising,
family people. You deserve someone who shares, lives, and proclaims those values. Unfortunately, we are stuck with a professional politician who listens to liberal California House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, left wing environmentalists, big labor, and Washington lobbyists while ignoring you.
Mike is a true servant of the people. He was elected as Mayor of Coolidge, Georgia, in 1986. In 1990, he was elected to the Thomas County Board of Education where he for served 14 years. In 2004 he was elected to the Georgia House of Representatives where he was re-elected in 2006 and 2008. In the 2008 election, he received more votes in his district than John McCain or Barack Obama. His constituents know him. They trust Mike because he listens to them and represents them, not professional politicians and lobbyists in Atlanta. You can trust Mike to do the same for you as your congressman in Washington.

Don't be intimidated. Many people toy
with the idea of running for office, especially on the
local level. If you are considering running for office
in Decatur County as a Republican, but are not quite sure
yet, contact
us. We'll work with you to answer your questions.
We'll help provide all of the information that you might
need to decide whether or not you want to run. When you
decide that you DO want to seek elected office, we'll
provide a support network to help your candidacy get underway.
You won't be by yourself. As Chairman and as long as
I am able to serve as an office in our local party, I
will pledge support to local candidates and will even
more strongly pledge to fulfill any promise made to our
candidates. It is through a consolidated and sustained
effort, working as a group, that we can effectively meet
the voters in Decatur County and put our candidates and
qualifications in the forefront of their minds.
Don't fall prey to the outdated philosophy that you can't
win as a Republican in Decatur County. This outdated mode
of thinking seems to pervade our local community. Stand
on your principles and help us build an even stronger
party membership that can provide the proper support that
our candidates should receive once they make the commitment
to seek election (or re-election) to office.
