I'M PROUD TO SERVE AS YOUR CHAIRMAN FOR 2007-2008

Hi, my name is Keith Sellars, Chairman of the Republican Party of Decatur County, Georgia. I am proud to be able to serve in this position and consider it an honor to be able to lend my services to a cause that I strongly believe in.

I am very excited about the things that my Board and I have planned for our local party in the coming months and beyond. I am a believer in a results-oriented approach. In other words, let's talk about what we want to do, be sure of the direction we're going, and then get to work and start producing visible results. Talk and empty promises can only go so far. It is my intention to accomplish every task that the Board and I have laid out before us. This will be no easy task since we've discussed, and agreed upon, quite a slate of tasks, but I am confident that we are up to the challenge. These tasks are listed below.

I'd like to encourage the voters in Decatur County to get involved in your local elections. Don't think that YOU can't be elected to office. Speak up, hold your locally elected officials accountable, and if you're still dissatisfied with the results, then consider running for office.

The driving theme for my term as Chairman will be "Putting Common Sense Back In Government".

ACHIEVING GOALS THROUGH SUSTAINED EFFORT AND COMMITMENT

Goals For Our Local Party Include:

• Organization:  We are committed to putting in place a level of organization that our local party has never known. My main goal in this area is to establish a base level of organized efforts that will propel our party to a sustained level of success, starting now and lasting into the future.
   
• Website:  As you can tell if you're reading this page, this goal has already been accomplished. The focus of our website will be to encourage viewers to stay in tune with what is going on locally by providing current, accurate information and resources.
   
• Email Newsletter:  We have started an email newsletter as a means of making direct contact with the Republican Party members of Decatur County. In order to be placed on our newsletter, you must be a member in good standing of the Decatur County Republican Party.
   
• Increased Active Membership:  An active, excited membership will do great things in Decatur County. I, along with my Board, am committed to energizing our local Party membership. The best way for the Board to do this is to lead by example. By staying in touch with our members through our website, email newsletter, and direct contact, we will show that we are actively working to achieve this goal.
   
• Challenging Every Locally Elected Office:  My goal as Chairman, and that of my Board, is to challenge every elected position and office in Decatur County by putting forward a qualified, respected Republican challenger as often as possible. Our ultimate goal is to have a 100% challenge rate.  
   
• Increased Budget:  To achieve substantial results often requires a certain amount of working capital, i.e,. money. By increasing our active membership, then a direct result will be an increased budget. This will then allow us to increases our chances of success in helping our Party members get elected to local positions and offices. Our goal is to increase our budget to a level that will help us advertise and market our local Republican Party candidates in order to run for, and win, local elected positions and offices.
  

As you can see, we are not afraid to set some demanding tasks for ourselves. I am fully committed to achieving the goals set forth above. I believe that I have a strong, experienced Board, and believe that we are completely capable of accomplishing the tasks listed above. I believe in what we're doing and feel as if it is our appointed time and place to help give the voters of Decatur County a voice - to help them realize that they CAN make a difference if they will stand up as a group and make their wishes known.
